Training courses: Train-the-Trainer Naples

Course Description

This course is part of the ELIXIR Train the Trainer programme. TtT courses aim to give new instructors and teachers tools and tips for providing an enriching learning experience to trainees, irrespective of topic, and to include best-practice guidance on course and training material development.

Fee

The course does not include a fee, but the participants are expected to pay their own travel and accommodation costs.



Selection

A maximum of 20 candidates will be selected on a first-come- first-served basis. A maximum of 7 places is reserved to participants to the conference BBCC2025: https://www.bbcc-meetings.it/bbcc2025/bbcc2025-program-and-venue. Selected participants will be notified by 25th November 2025.

Target audience

The workshop is open to all trainers and educators in higher education.



Aims of the workshop

  • To get acquainted with learning principles and how they apply to training
  • To be able to select and utilise training techniques that can be used to enhance learner engagement and participation
  • To learn how to use assessment and feedback in training
  • To learn about session, course, and materials design



Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course learners can:

  • list learning principles a good trainer should have in mind
  • describe key phases of curriculum & course development
  • propose training techniques drawing on learning principles
  • explain the primary role of learning outcomes
  • distinguish different types of assessment & their role in supporting learner progression towards learning outcome



Course prerequisites

Open to anyone involved in teaching or training and interested in improving their instructional skills and course effectiveness
