Curation workshop on molecular and causal interactions [closed]
| - |
The curation workshop on molecular and causal interactions is organized by the University of Rome Tor Vergata under the ELIXIR Italy training program and the ELIXIR-EXCELERATE project.
Date
05-07 December 2017
Venue
the Workshop will be held at the headquarters of the Italian National Research Council,
Piazzale Aldo Moro 7, Roma
Course Description
The workshop will bring together the main European protagonists in the landscape of manually curated molecular and causal interactions databases. During the workshop will be discussed the state of art of the curation of molecular and causal interactions; the guidelines of curation rules on causal interactions will be defined and some use cases will be analyse in the molecular interaction fields in order to update and maintain IMEx curation rules. Curation rules, controlled vocabularies and standards will be developed, updated and maintained, keeping in mind the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) principles which aim to increase the finding and reusability of data resources.
Objectives
In this workshop we aim at achieving the following:
- Adding causality statements into the curation workflow
- Define the Minimum Information for Causal Statements Representation
- Define a policy to annotate genomic regions and features involved in causal interactions with transcription regulators
- Improving funders value for money – strengthening the work of IMEx Consortium
- Adding RNA-protein interactions into the curation workflow
- Develop a strategy for the curation of interactions involving intrinsically disordered protein regions
- Discuss, analyse and if necessary define new curation rule for specific use cases.
